ELm collection

Contemporary Wild was invited to react on the Leather Collection from Dick van Hoff for the exposition 10 Years of Thomas Eyck. The leather objects of Dick use Elm wood as a support. This wood used to be one of the most common used woods in the Netherlands, but it's special properties are now merely forgoten. In our installation we displayed the different characteristics of Elm wood.

In the attic there's a barrel we've made out of Elm with inside a drink that is maturing for the 20thanniversary of Thomas Eyck. This drink is distilled out of “pannenbier” the beer that's being served when the highest point of a constuction is reached. After ten years this drink will have the taste from it's Elm vessel.
